Rebellion Teases Sniper Elite 5 Reveal
Remember when Rebellion Developments promised Sniper Elite 5 information in 2020? Eventually, the developer is now able to fulfill that promise.
Sadie Flayeh, executive of marketing, took Twitter yesterday to announce that “news on the next Sniper Elite mainline” iteration is coming soon. Unfortunately, there was no date or timetable.
Take note that the reference was more like a footnote while the sequel was stated last year to be in production. Sniper Elite 5 has never been announced officially. Therefore, expect Rebellion Developments in the coming months to announce a huge gameplay and confirm the release date.
Hello 2020 people! Just a reminder from your friendly neighborhood @Rebellion PR bot…
ZOMBIE ARMY 4: DEAD WAR – February 4th
EVIL GENIUS 2: WORLD DOMINATION – Coming 2020
SNIPER ELITE VR – TBA
Oh… and there'll be news on the next mainline Sniper Elite!

Except that the game will be a direct sequel to the fourth installment released in 2017, nothing is known about Sniper Elite 5. Since then, Sniper Elite 3 and Sniper Elite V2 Remastered have been released on the Nintendo Switch by Rebellion Developments.
Sniper Elite 5 is not the only project going on in 2020 by Rebellion Developments. Zombie Army 4: Dead War is scheduled to be released on February 4 as Evil Genius 2: World Domination is expected to be published later this year. In addition, the Zombie Army Trilogy will be coming to the Nintendo Switch within the next few months, including all three plot books. While planning Sniper Elite VR, the developer was also active, but remains without a release date.
Rebellion Developments has, and for good reason, cut a career out of a single franchise. The games of the Sniper Elite proved to be a commercial success, having sold more than 10 million units in 2015. Perhaps in the later years these figures have been boosted.
It might be too early to say but it doesn’t look like Sniper Elite 5 is a game of the next generation. Rebellion Developments is expected to have a release for current-generation platforms before the end of the year.
