Next Iron Galaxy Game Is Not Killer Instinct Says Adam Heart On Twitter
Adam Heart of Iron Galaxy Studios announced today on Twitter that he hoped people would be excited about the next game he was working on with his studio. Sadly, given the expectations of many fighting game fans, the next Iron Galaxy title that comes out is not Killer Instinct.
A remade Killer Instinct (originally developed by Double Helix) served as one of the few exclusive games on the Xbox One and also served as the game’s launch title, supported by its interesting characters and free-to-play interface. Other guest characters included Halo’s Arbiter, Battletoad’s Rash, and Gears of War’s General RAAM.
While it’s a certainty that many of the original game’s fans would expect the new Xbox console to come with a new Killer Instinct game and would really want one, Iron Galaxy has other plans unfortunately. All that Heart was able to say about it was that he was in love with it, but unfortunately there was still a lot of work to do on it and that the studio would show it off when it was ready, so it’ll probably be a long time before anything is shown.
At least one fan replied to his original tweet hoping it would be a new Killer Instinct, especially because Iron Galaxy took over creation years ago, saying it was the only real reason to buy an Xbox, but Heart squashed it by saying it wasn’t a new Killer Instinct game.
While it did dash expectations, it will do a lot to avoid disappointment (or unjustifiable fan-rage) down the road by stomping out a rumor before it can really get going. Meanwhile, we’re just going to have to wait and see what the new Iron Galaxy game is, and hopefully it’s going to be good.
