Mortal Kombat 11 Drops Joker Teaser

While everyone was busy celebrating the new year, the Joker fled from Arkham’s asylum and will soon be bound for Mortal Kombat 11.

Last year, the clown criminal prince was confirmed as part of the Kombat Pack and will join Sindel, the Terminator, Nightwolf, and Shang Tsung. Take note that the Joker release date of January 28 for NetherRealm Studios has already been fixed. So, although a preview has arrived today, with the exception of the new fighter to join Mortal Kombat 11’s playable roster by the end of the month.

The Joker’s appearance carries a lot of significance. The character made his debut in Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe back in 2008 but NetherRealm Studios was stopped from indulging in bloodshed by a legal contract, something the series has always been about. The creator is believed to have regained complete freedom over the character with Mortal Kombat 11. Therefore, in the new installment, the Joker will have deaths, and viewers are undoubtedly eager to know how Batman’s biggest opponent can finish off his opponents.

Once the Joker is released, all attention must turn to the Kombat Pack’s last remaining warrior— Spawn, voiced by Keith David himself. Perhaps the most hyped character from the lot and is expected to crash on March 17 into Mortal Kombat 11.

The creative director of the series, Ed Boon, has long been involved in cross-checking with other worlds. This also includes the famous franchise for Street Fighter. NetherRealm Studios has made contact to have a Street Fighter character in Mortal Kombat, according to Capcom’s Yoshinori Ono. The higher-ups, however, rejected the proposal.

Mortal Kombat 11 is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Android, and Google Stadia, one of the best-selling titles in 2019.
