Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Rumored For PS5 In Holiday 2021

After last year’s critical acclaim update, Insomniac Games was widely rumored to have begun work on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Such speculations are now beginning to gain power.

When speaking earlier today about the current Kinda Funny Gamecast, co-host Imran Khan said he “knew too much” about Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 to guess. As far as he is concerned, in another installment around the 2021 holiday season, the web-crawler will return to PlayStation 5. While there was no evidence presented, Khan worked at Game Informer as a former senior editor. His comments are therefore worthwhile.

I know too much about [Marvel’s Spider-Man 2], so I can’t speculate too much. I think Spider-Man 2 will come sooner than we think.

Insomniac Games posted job listings for an exclusive PlayStation game earlier this year. For PlayStation 5, the secretive project was undoubtedly seeing how the next generation is just around the corner and Sony would like Insomniac Games to make a-listers for the next-generation platform instead of the existing one. It was therefore very easy to say that the author focused on anything but Spider-Man 2 from Marvel.

If Insomniac Games were working on something completely new at this stage, it would be extremely unlikely and shocking. In every way possible, Marvel’s Spider-Man was a critical success. It became history’s fastest-selling superhero title, a feat accomplished in just three months. It has also become one of history’s best-selling PlayStation 4 titles, with more than 13.2 million copies sold worldwide (physical and digital) to date.

In reality, Sony would have liked to be a launch title for PlayStation 5 for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Unfortunately, Insomniac Games was never going to have enough time to pump such a fast sequel with the original release just last year. Even now, many expect that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be launching a three-year development cycle for PlayStation 5 somewhere in 2022.

In the holiday season of 2020, Sony is set to launch PlayStation 5. In addition to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Sony is heavily speculated on commissioning work on God of War 2 and Horizon as well: Zero Dawn 2. Such sequels are also inevitable for the new console of the next generation.

For those who have not yet played the original, it is now possible to purchase Marvel’s Spider-Man on PlayStation 4. Sometimes, when you see all the shopping deals currently available due to the festive season, it’s the best time.
